The money most students forget to ask for
University-level funding is where the real volume is. Merit scholarships applied automatically on admission, departmental assistantships, graduate teaching and research assistantships (which often waive tuition entirely), early-application bursaries and country-specific awards for Indian nationals collectively fund far more students than every government scheme combined.
- Email the department coordinator directly and ask which assistantships are open to first-year international students.
- Apply in round one — many merit awards are exhausted by round three.
